SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Mr. Schoendorf is a Partner in the Litigation Support and Business Valuation Practice, where his responsibilities include management of the department's caseload and staff.

Commercial disputes involving fraud, breach of contract, and real estate are among Mr. Schoendorf's current and past caseload. He also assists clients with operations management, cash flow planning, and merger and acquisition (M&A) analysis.

Experienced as both a Chief Financial Officer and a Controller, Mr. Schoendorf has devoted 35 years to accounting for public and private companies. His specific areas of expertise include:

  • Accounting systems and controls
  • Bankruptcy and insolvency
  • Budgeting and cash flow planning
  • Commercial damages litigation
  • Development and construction
  • Feasibility analysis
  • Fraud investigation
  • Real estate brokerage

Mr. Schoendorf is knowledgeable in Chapter 11 reorganizations, including preference analysis and debtor-in-possession reporting. He can assist you in a full range of bankruptcy support roles.

While serving as the CFO for a $20 million multi-regional retail and wholesale company, Mr. Schoendorf was responsible for major improvements in the firm's financial and computer systems, inventory management, initiation of company-wide training programs and the development of procedure manuals. He also established good working relationships between subsidiaries, operating staff and the accounting department.

Real estate was the focus of Mr. Schoendorf's early accounting career, including the position of Controller for Arvida Corporation. While at Arvida, he was involved in the prestigious community of Coco Plum in Coral Gables, Florida and initial planning for the firm's development of 10,000 acres in Weston, Florida. Mr. Schoendorf also served as the Vice President and Controller of a $750 million real estate brokerage business, with subsidiaries involved in mortgage banking, insurance and property management.

Prior to joining Berenfeld Spritzer in 2006, Mr. Schoendorf was a Director of Litigation Services for Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLP.
