SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Mr. Yesner is a partner in the firm's Tax Practice. He joined Berenfeld Spritzer in 2007 along with the other partners of his former firm, Lefcourt, Billig, Tiktin & Yesner, P.A.
Mr. Yesner brings over 35 years of experience to the firm, which encompasses a wide variety of clients in complexity, size and types of businesses. He began his career with Arthur Young & Company (now Ernst & Young, LLP), and then spent many years at another international CPA firm, serving as the partner in charge of the income tax department for the Miami office, before forming a local firm with three of the partners from the Miami office. Mr. Yesner also served as the firm's income tax liaison to the real estate industry.
As an income tax practitioner, Mr. Yesner has functioned primarily in the areas of income tax research and planning, including income tax accounting matters and structural characteristics and alternatives. He has been involved in the structure of numerous transactions and projects, from the planning and design stages to structural implementation. Mr. Yesner uses the business approach to consider the non-tax issues to a transaction, while controlling and minimizing the income tax effects and consequences.
Mr. Yesner has also performed numerous litigation support engagements for various attorneys, having qualified as an expert witness on a range of income tax issues in various courts and jurisdictions, as well as several arbitration and mediation proceedings.
Mr. Yesner is also active in the profession outside his office activities. For many years he served as a consultant to other practitioners for both the Florida and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally, Mr. Yesner has participated in the continuing professional education programs for both the Florida and American Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He has been distinguished as "Outstanding Seminar Leader" by the Florida and American Institutes for every one of the eight years he has taught seminars throughout the United States.
Mr. Yesner has also been a member of various speaker's bureaus. Accordingly, he has participated in numerous speaking and lecturing engagements around the country, as well as many media interviews and appearances.
Active in professional, trade and charitable organizations, Mr. Yesner has been involved with the Real Estate and Securities Institute and the Greater Miami Tax Institute. He has also served as a board member or officer in several charitable organizations.
